Leesburg, VA (September 10, 2026) — Loudoun United FC hits the road this Saturday to take on Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. ET as the Red-and-White look to respond and pick up three points away from home.
The Matchup
Loudoun enters Saturday’s match following a 5-4 loss against Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC at Segra Field. Eddy Davis III recorded a hat trick to help the Red-and-White take the lead twice in the second half, while a Switchbacks own goal added Loudoun’s fourth goal in the 87th minute. Colorado Springs responded with two late goals to take all three points in a nine-goal match.
Pittsburgh comes into the weekend following a 2-2 road draw against Miami FC. After falling behind in the first half, Trevor Amann converted from the penalty spot to bring the Riverhounds level before Sam Bassett gave Pittsburgh the lead after the break. Miami found an equalizer in stoppage time to split the points.
Saturday will mark the third meeting between Loudoun and Pittsburgh across all competitions this season. The Riverhounds earned a 3-2 victory at Segra Field in March before the two sides met again in Pittsburgh for PRINX Tires USL Cup play in July, where Pittsburgh earned a 2-0 result.
Loudoun will look to respond quickly following last weekend’s result and put together a complete performance on the road. Against a familiar Pittsburgh side, the Red-and-White will look to stay organized defensively, compete in key moments and continue creating opportunities in the attacking third.

Head Coach Anthony Limbrick on facing Pittsburgh and the squad’s recent additions:
“We know Pittsburgh are a really good team. We’ve had two very tough games against them this season, both at home in the opening game of the season and away in the cup, where I thought they were very good. They’re tough to play at their place, so we’ll have to deal with their physical threat, especially if they look to go long early, and be aware of how they overload the midfield when they’re in possession. We also need to defend crosses into our box better than we did the last time we played them, while making sure we impose our game in possession and take the chances we create. We’ve also been really pleased with the impact of the new players. Rida has been excellent in training, Liam has come in and made an impact, Akil is really starting to come into his own, and Jordan has added his personality and quality as a goalkeeper. Along with Eddy’s performance last weekend, we’re seeing a lot of players contributing, and whether they start or come into the game later, we feel like they give us some really good options.”
