
Leesburg, VA. (February 28, 2026) — Loudoun United FC wrapped up its preseason schedule with a 2-1 victory over George Mason University, closing preparations ahead of the club’s 2026 USL Championship season opener.
Match Summary
George Mason struck first in the 15th minute to take an early lead, putting Loudoun on the back foot in the opening stages.
The Red-and-White responded in the 27th minute when Arquímides Ordóñez finished off a strong attacking sequence to level the match at 1-1.
After settling into the game and solving early challenges, Loudoun improved as the match progressed and found the winner in the 68th minute. A trialist capitalized on a sustained attacking phase following a regained possession to give Loudoun the 2-1 advantage.
Both Loudoun goals were created from service delivered on the left side by Kwame Awuah, as the team’s counterpressing and wide play proved effective in generating attacking opportunities.
