Leesburg, VA (May 27, 2026) — Loudoun United FC has signed goalkeeper Addison Roemer and midfielders Lauren Sanders and Alessi Carrier to its USL W Team for the 2026 season, pending league and federation approval.
Roemer joins Loudoun United as a goalkeeper currently competing at the University of Pittsburgh, after beginning her career at American University. During her time at American, Roemer appeared in 22 matches and made 21 starts across two seasons. In 2025, she started 14 of 15 matches and finished the season with 90 saves. As a freshman in 2024, Roemer was named Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week twice, earned Patriot League Rookie of the Week honors and was selected to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll. Prior to her collegiate career, Roemer attended Riverside High School, where she earned Second Team All-Potomac District and Second Team All-Region honors. She also played club soccer for TSJ FC Virginia, helping the program win four conference championships, qualify for three national playoffs, and earn a No. 1 national ranking in 2021-22 and 2022-23.

Sanders joins Loudoun United as a midfielder from American University. She has appeared in 37 matches across three seasons with the Eagles, making 16 starts. In 2025, she played in all 17 matches and made nine starts as a junior. In 2024, Sanders was named Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week, appearing in 15 matches and scoring the game-winning goal against Richmond. Before arriving at American, Sanders attended Brooke Point High School, where she was a two-time VHSL First Team All-Commonwealth District selection, a First Team All-Region Honoree in 2020, and a two-time team MVP that led the district with 31 goals. She also played club soccer for Virginia Development Academy and was selected to an Olympic Development Program International Team.
“Lauren brings energy, versatility and a strong competitive mindset to our group,” said Loudoun United FC USL W Head Coach Christian Cziommer. “She has proven herself at the college level and has the ability to impact the game on both sides of the ball. Carrier joins Loudoun United FC following her recent commitment to Christopher Newport University. She currently attends Oakton High School and plays for Virginia Revolution SC’s 2007/08 Girls Academy 1 team. Carrier also brings previous experience with FC Virginia, TSJ FC Virginia and the Washington Dutch Lions in the WPSL. In 2024, she was named a Girls Academy Team Representative and earned WAGS All-Tournament Team honors that same year. Carrier also helped her team capture a Girls Academy Conference Championship and qualify for the Girls Academy Champions League/National Playoffs in 2023-24. At the high school level, she helped Oakton earn conference and regional championships and finish as a state runner-up.
“Alessi is a promising young player with a strong foundation and a lot of upside,” said Loudoun United FC USL W Head Coach Christian Cziommer. “She has already gained valuable experience through high-level club and high school competition, and we believe this environment will be a great next step for her development.
