Leesburg, VA (August 13, 2026) – Loudoun United FC hits the road this Saturday, August 15, to face Detroit City FC in USL Championship action at Keyworth Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET as the Red-and-White look to bounce back and earn another important result away from home.
The Matchup
Loudoun enters Saturday’s match following a narrow 1-0 defeat against Charleston Battery at Segra Field. The result snapped a two-match league winning streak for the Red-and-White, which included a 1-0 road victory against Indy Eleven and a 2-0 home win over Hartford Athletic. Loudoun will look to return to that form as the club begins a stretch that includes three of its next four matches on the road.
Detroit returns to Keyworth Stadium after earning a 1-0 road victory against FC Tulsa last weekend. The match’s lone goal came in the 51st minute, while Detroit’s defense held Tulsa scoreless to secure the clean sheet. Detroit enters the weekend in third place in the Eastern Conference with 31 points and has earned 13 points from its last six league matches.
Saturday will be the second meeting between Loudoun and Detroit this season. The two sides played to a scoreless draw at Segra Field on May 23, with neither team able to find a breakthrough. The match will also mark the 10th all-time meeting between the clubs.
The Red-and-White will look to remain organized defensively, limit Detroit’s opportunities in the attacking third and be decisive in front of goal as they push for another road result.

“I think we had a really tough game against them last time. At Segra, I thought both teams really cancelled each other out. It’s a difficult place to go, the pitch is very small, and they’re a very aggressive, front-foot team. We’ve been working on how to counteract their press and how we can play through or over it. In possession, we need to make sure we find the right balance, especially with the three new players we’ve brought into the squad. Defensively, we need to defend the box well and stop crosses from wide areas because that’s a real threat from them. We know there will be periods where we’ll have to defend for long stretches, so it’s about doing that well, like we’ve shown we can do in the past. We need the kind of performance we showed away at Indy.”
